We're Back!

How sad it is to be back in Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong, it had to happen sooner or later, but coming back to this cold weather...brr! I was supposed to go to Marshfield today for a conference, and it was cancelled due to weather. (I suppose that's one perk) I got a call from another teacher at 4:15 telling me to sleep in. How nice!!

As for our trip...it couldn't have gone much better. I had planned a LOT, but we got to it all, and had no problems traveling. We're pretty lucky. I figured we'd get lost at least once, but nope! And our rental car...I should have taken a picture. We were supposed to get a small compact car, but they were all out, so we had a Mazda 5 which just so happens to be a mini-van. It was pretty interesting, but much better than having a tiny car.

The first day we were there we got up early and went to the Leu Gardens in historic Orlando. It was beautiful and felt like a tropical rainforest. A lady walking by said we had the perfect weather for taking pictures of flowers (it was cloudy), so that was nice...and it got sunny later in the day anyway!

After the Leu Gardens we went to SeaWorld and got to see Shamu, a sea lion show, sharks, etc. It was beautiful, and afterwards makes me want to be a killer whale trainer. The things they get to do with these huge animals is amazing. They looked like they were having SO much fun. We then rushed home to get ready, and went to see Colbie Caillat perform at the House of Blues. I love her music, and afterwards Eric couldn't stop singing her songs. I'm glad he enjoyed it as much as I did :)

Now comes Tuesday. We started the morning with an hour drive to Cocoa Beach where we went kayaking in some back ocean waters, and then laid out on the beach. VERY relaxing. Eric fell asleep and now has a bad sunburn on his back. Oops! We drove home and got ready to eat at Medieval Times. It was kind of corny, but overall a good time. You aren't allowed to eat with utensils, so soup, chicken, etc. had to be eaten with our hands. We ended our short vacation with an airboat tour looking for alligators. We probably saw 8-10 alligators, the biggest being 10 feet long!! Ewww........I'm just glad we were in the boat and they couldn't get to us :)
