Redemption Party

My first Mother's Day came and went without much of anything.  It was Ava's baptism and the day was most definitely hers, but I'll be honest - deep down I was hoping for some flowers, a card, a nap?!  I tried not to be bitter, but I was sure Eric would come through with something special.  Nope.

Fast forward two weekends to Saturday, May 22nd.  I took Reilly to La Crosse to do some shopping early and came home around 11 to help clean the house.  Our parents were going to come over for a little while to help celebrate my upcoming golden birthday since my parents would both be out of town the following weekend.  Our friends Matt, Laina, and Miranda stopped by as they were "out for a drive."  Then I noticed another familiar truck.  Heidi and Chris were here.  The events of the day started to make sense and suddenly we had a house and garage full of close family and friends.  Eric put together the little surprise and pulled it off quite nicely.  My hubby rocks!  Now if only he could hook up our air conditioning...  :)

P.S.  Don't mind my hideous-ness.  It was a true surprise and I had been painting when our first guests arrived.  I took a 5 minute shower to freshen up!
